Local singer’s latest EP set to take you on a journey of discovery

Following the success of her two singles, ‘2 Woke 4 Love’ and ‘Waiting’, local artist Nirvana Nokwe’s shares a story about love in her latest EP, 'Nirvous Love'

Local singer Nirvana Nokwe’s latest project Nirvous Love is sure to take one’s soul on a voyage of discovery.

The six-track extended play (EP) record explores the vindictive streak of attaining the love we all deserve.

According to the Sandton resident, lead with two singles, 2 Woke 4 Love and Waiting, the project is a language about how we define and predict love.

“I hope everyone can find solace and healing and be relieved from the shackles of control and being controlling. This project is the blueprint of a genre I’m pioneering called ‘cosmic’, definitely something many may call sonic cinema.”

The 26-year-old has always had a long-time history in the arts, making it possible for participate in the entertainment industry at just four years old.

By the age of 10, she understood what she was doing in entertainment and concluded that she wanted to continue pursuing a career in the arts.

Today, Nokwe’s storytelling is described as intimate, truthful, her personal brand encapsulating the modern day intellectualised dreamer, said Paradise label manager Mike Kelly.

“Nirvana’s latest release shows the diversity, future thinking and artistic integrity she has developed over her career. With massive support from stores such as Apple Music, it’s clear that she has a lot to offer and we’re excited to hear what’s yet to come,” said Kelly.

The young artist is also set to take to the stage at the Road to Afrochella, South African edition, an experiential pop-up activation designed to introduce and highlight Afrochella to the sub-Saharan market.

“Surprisingly, a great sense of belonging and calm has washed over my spirit. After hours of just sitting and squealing at my screen because of the joy and the excitement of the news, I’m so grateful to God and my ancestors, as well as the Afrochella team for seeing and believing in me.

“Afrochella attendees are going to experience something so unique and ethereal. I can’t wait! It’s going to be a memorable one,” said Nokwe.
