Second water shutdown hits Bryanston in less than a week

For a second time in less than seven days, Bryanston residents are hit with another emergency water shutdown due to a major burst pipe on Anslow Lane.

Johannesburg Water has announced that an emergency water shutdown is currently affecting residents in Bryanston.
The shutdown is to attend to a major burst pipe on Anslow Lane.

The Bryanston reservoir and tower were isolated at 05:00 this morning (October 3), affecting the Bryanston, Fourways and surrounding areas.

According to the City entity, so far teams have completed the isolation of the network and excavation of the site.

Work yet to be completed:

  • Welding of steel main
  • Flushing of the network
  • Reinstatement of water.

Affected areas include Bryanston, Lyme Park, Rivonia, Fourways, Douglasdale, Magaliesig, Witkoppen, Maroeladal, Craigavon, Dainfern, Kengies, Lonehill, Beverly, Paulshof, Pinslopes, Magaliesig View and Norscot.

There is no estimated time for completion at this stage.
