IIE Varsity College Sandton hosts National High Schools Quiz

Winners for the first round and regional finals of the National High Schools Quiz held at the IIE Varsity College in Sandton were announced.

In the quest to find young bright minds, the IIE Varsity College Sandton campus opened its doors to high school learners who participated in the college’s quiz event.

The quiz, organised by representatives of the tertiary institution, saw participants answering general knowledge questions on August 24. The campus head of the college Kimberly McIntyre said the quiz aimed to encourage learners to gain more knowledge in topics focusing on geography, history, science and nature, sports, entertainment and current affairs.

Third place winner Boitshepo Dlamini with the first place winner of the regional quiz final Adam Langson and Shawna Nash who came second will be up against the other regional finalists at the National finals to take place in October at The IIE’s Varsity College Durban North.

“We really enjoyed hosting the first round of this year’s National High Schools’ Quiz and take pride in providing a platform for the learners to shine as they demonstrate their general knowledge and to have it rewarded,” said McIntyre.

The winner of this year’s quiz was a Grade 9 learner of UCT Online High School, Kgabiso Radebe. Boitshepo Dlamini of Royal Schools Sky City came second and Rethabile Mosotle of Liberty Community School was third.
