St David’s Cricket Time Cricket Festival commences

Director of cricket at St David’s Marist Inanda, Dave Nosworthy, shared the positive impacts the competition has on the lives of young aspiring professional cricket players.

The highly anticipated St David’s Fasken Time Cricket Festival made its return recently.

The prestige cricket event had 12 schools participating including the Lions Invitation XI at St David’s Marist Inanda.

The mastermind behind the tournament and director of cricket at St David’s Marist Inanda, Dave Nosworthy said, “The Fasken Time Cricket Festival is all about player development and opportunity.”

The tournament has opened a lot of opportunities for young players and started in 2017 but had to be paused for two years due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Its return brought back the spirit of growth and cricket development in South Africa in the lives of young talented upcoming stars.

“These young, budding cricketers come along to St David’s to test their expertise and skills as players over an extended period. Take Marco Jansen, the current Proteas test cricketer who did just that at the festival just a few years ago and now very recently got his chance to walk onto Lord’s [cricket ground] in the United Kingdom as a national test cricketer.”
