Sandton SPCA’s new clinic manager is working to reopen the clinic

Meet the Sandton SPCA’s newest clinic manager Marizda Kruger who is working to get the clinic up and running.

The Sandton SPCA’s newest addition to the team comes in the form of Marizda Kruger who will oversee the revival of the clinic.

As the clinic manager, Kruger hopes to not only welcome dozens of animals who need attention but also go out into the community to attend to the animals that may not also get the attention that they deserve.

According Kruger, she always had a passion for animals because she was constantly surrounded by four-legged furry friends. “I grew up with animals; my earliest memory is of when my father used to train dogs for the military so we always had animals around. There really is not a moment in my life where I was not involved with animals.”

Her commitment to animal welfare was however driven by a heart-breaking experience that Kruger encountered in primary school. “When I was in primary school, I witnessed boys kicking a kitten on the rugby field at school. I couldn’t do anything because I was too little and, from that point, I decided that I would never ever not be able to help and that how it all started.”

As the clinic manager, Kruger is currently working to get the clinic up and running with the proper procedures and protocols. “[We need to] get all the procedures in place because we have huge plans. One of these is to mainly assist the animals from Alexandra.”

Keep an eye on the Sandton SPCA Facbook for updates on the clinic and when it will be reopened.
