St David’s Marist Inanda share their love for reading

INANDA – Learners from the St David’s Marist Inanda College spent some quality time at the Preparatory School, reading and sharing a love of words and stories for World Read Aloud Day.

The college and junior preparatory learners at St David’s Marist Inanda recently embraced World Read Aloud Day with open arms.

World Read Aloud Day, celebrated annually in more than 173 countries, emphasises the importance of sharing stories by challenging learners to grab a book, find an audience and read aloud.

According to the school’s Carey Fisher-Gietzman, learners of the college spent some quality time on February 2 at the preparatory school, reading and sharing a love of words and stories with the grade 1 to 3s.

“While our youngest Marist learners greatly enjoyed this time and didn’t want their big Marist brothers to leave, the college boys may have enjoyed it even more, appreciating the wonder of their younger peers and the joy that comes from a good story,” she said.
