Transition Football Club looks forward to a year of growth and major milestones.

The local football club is dedicated to providing high quality coaching to players between the ages of six to 20.

According to coach and managing director Claudio Lorenzani, while it was only the club’s fifth year in operation, there were a number of exciting events and milestones coming up this year that they could not wait to share with the community.

“[We are planning] more player promotions, getting more players out to different teams, and we already have a few others on trials at different teams that we are hoping goes well,” he said.

He added that one of the biggest things for the club this year was to take its craft ‘more serious’, aligning international partnerships to build a bigger and brighter future for its players.

“I think that we have the talent but for us we really want to get to a stage now where we are competing on an international level to send more kids out internationally.

“For us at [Transition Football] it is not only about giving the players local opportunities but also getting them on that international stage, which I think we are more than capable of achieving with the right training and education.”

Lorenzani added that the club had also recently launched its full-time academy, in partnership with Pinnacle College Kyalami, which will also fast-track the players.

“This combines school boarding at an IEB level with the football programme which is great because the players are studying at a really high level.

“This is a big game charger for use because that would mean more contact time with the players, making sure that we are focusing on both their studies and football.”
