Makara called up the captains of the netball and cricket teams onto the stage so they could talk about their team’s expectations in the challenge.
The majority of the captains commented that they wanted to make their school and families proud.

Captain of the Dainfern College cricket team Judd Bertholbt said, “We are all hoping to do very well in this year’s tournament. The team has been training hard so we do have expectations of having good results because we have a strong squad this year. According to Makara, the Montrose Night Challenge has been held for more than 20 years and remained one of the biggest inter-primary night tournaments in South Africa.

“This is something that you really can’t describe, there is no comparison, to be honest. This year we have received a lot of support from companies, schools and parents. Unfortunately, we have to limit the number of spectators due to the Covid-19 regulations. For the parents, make sure to come as early as possible,” concluded Makara.
