Sandton police officials remind learners to say no to drugs

SANDOWN – The operation proved to be a success as officials spent two hours searching school bags and performing body searches without any disturbance while following Covid-19 regulations

Sandown High School was visited by Sandton police officers of the Crime Combating Unit, Social Crime Prevention, Sector Policing and K9 Unit.

Joining the visit were also members of the Metro police and the Department of Education on January 26.

The purpose of the operation was to search for illegal substances and items on the school grounds. The operation proved to be a success as officials spent two hours searching school bags and performing body searches without any disturbance while following Covid-19 regulations.

“This operation is an awareness and preventative measure for minimising illegal items on school grounds. It took us close to two hours to finish our operation at Sandown High School. There were no illegal items found in the premises except for abandoned cigarettes,” concluded Captain Bheki Xulu spokesperson at Sandton police.
