Congratulations to the Class of 2021

BRYANSTON – Like many other schools in South Africa, Michael Mount faced many obstacles in forms of the pandemic, however the presence of the virus did not change the schools mission on ensuring that their learners would be more than capable of conquering their finals.

Despite the rainy weather on January 19, Michael Mount’s Class of 2021 could not contain their excitement as they received their results with astonishing marks.

Parents and staff members of the school were among the few who were present during the entire course of the intimate celebration with the learners.

Like many other schools in South Africa, Michael Mount faced many obstacles in form of the pandemic, however, the presence of the virus did not change the school’s mission to ensure that their learners would be more than capable of conquering their finals. The pandemic caused a slight drop in the school’s usual 100% pass rate to 97%.

“It feels really good to finish high school with good grades. The 12 years were definitely worth it, it feels like we’re [Class of 2021] being thrown into the real world but I am certain that it will be fine. My plan is to study psychology at the University of Cape Town or at the University of the Witwatersrand,” said Kgomotso Baepi.

“All of my learners, every single one of them exceeded my expectations, above and beyond what I expected of them to achieve which is partly due to my amazing teaching skills and also to their [learners’] incredible commitment. My message to the Class of 2021: ‘Ain’t no mountain high enough’.”

William Bester, administrator of the school gave a brief description of how the day went, “The weather dampened the mood a bit, but celebrations are still in order. Generally I think that the learners are happy with their results – we [staff members] definitely are. It has been a wonderful start to the year so far.”
