The power of community at St Stithians

BRYANSTON – According to Rector Celeste Gilardi, this year provided a unique opportunity the school to test its ‘mettle’.

As we approach the end of the year, St Stithians College reflects on the importance of being part of a community.

According to Rector Celeste Gilardi, this year provided a unique opportunity for the school to test its ‘mettle’.

“The motto – One and All – has shown how important it is to be part of a supportive community. There have been many hardships but our staff, students and parents have never failed to gather around those in need.”

Gilardi noted that despite the challenges, the school reaffirmed its commitment to various community partnerships.

The school celebrated a number of highlights, including a water security project currently underway and a photovoltaic farm which is set to begin in 2022.

A third Grade RR class was introduced, the St Stithians Online School was successfully launched, and the school celebrated major milestones with the Junior Preparatory School turning 21 and the Kamoka Bush School 10 years.

Gilardi added that the Thandulwazi Saturday School also continues to change lives.

The Saints community also kept a close eye on wellness this year, focusing on bringing the community together with events such as the SaintsFest Virtual Challenge, encouraging the school community to walk, run or ride for a good cause.

The school ended off the year with a number of live events, including its highly anticipated Saints Sports Fest and water polo invitational, and the virtual celebration of its 68th Founder’s Day.

“It has been a remarkable year, bringing out the best in ‘one and all’. We approach the festive season with gratitude and wish you rest, hope and light,” Gilardi concluded.
