Fun in the sun at Sandton School Group
SANDTON – The morning started off with an intensive warm-up lead by the Grade 11 learners from the high school.
It was a day of fun and friendly competition as Sandton School Group kicked off the swimming season.
The school hosted its long-awaited opening swimming gala on October 9 after the last event was cancelled on account of the lockdown.
“Due to the ongoing restrictions and with the health and safety of our learners, parents and staff members, we only allowed a limited number of viewers,” said school executive head Nadya Katz.
The morning started off with an intensive warm-up lead by the Grade 11 learners from the high school.
Katz added that the Grade R and 1 learners were then accompanied by the Grade 11 swimmers into the pool as this was their first-ever swim gala.
“Having a helping hand to guide them [the learners] made them feel confident and eager to reach the finishing point.
“Our learners were so excited and enjoyed every part of the morning and they are really looking forward to the next gala in which they will compete for their sports houses,” she said.
