Captain of the bowling committee, Colin de Jager said, “The bowling committee organised this wonderful Heritage Day event. It’s basically people coming together to enjoy themselves in a game of bowling and end it off with a braai. We, as the Morningside Bowls Committee, have been encouraging more people from different age groups, genders and races to join. If you look at the sport right now, we can see that it is slowly dying based on the majority of the people who are playing. The sport needs more diversity, it will make me and the organisation happy.”
