Dreaming outside the box with Reach For a Dream

ILLOVO – For 33 years now the foundation has aimed to fulfil the dreams of children between the ages of three and 18 fighting life-threatening illness.

The Reach For A Dream foundation continues to adapt its practices to ensure that its dreamers keep dreaming.

The Dream Box, which launched on 3 March, will see a dreamer’s dream sent directly to their home, ensuring that the exchange is contactless and prioritises the safety of the children.

For 33 years now, the foundation has aimed to fulfil the dreams of children between the ages of three and 18 fighting life-threatening illness. The global pandemic has, however, hampered the rate at which dreams could be fulfilled.

“Reach For A Dream is proud to look back at a trying year and see that even though contact with the dream children was reduced significantly, the foundation persevered through innovative ways of inspiring hope and strength for the dream children who are more vulnerable than ever before,” said the foundation’s marketing manager Roxanne Manuel.

According to Reach For A Dream CEO Julia Sotirianakos, the team would like to add some fun and joy back into dreaming and making dreams come true.

“The new Dream Box is sure to add more magical moments for the dreamer and the family from the moment of receiving a colourful, creative box delivered by DHL, to opening the Dream Box and discovering a few, fun personalised embellishments and treasures – and finally the child’s ultimate dream right at the bottom of the Dream Box,” said Sotirianakos.

Each box is specially packed with each individual child in mind – their age, diagnosis, their journey, favourite colour and favourite superhero. “Our dream team is therefore so much more thoughtful and mindful that this is not just a box – this box is a special box waiting to be received, unwrapped and a dream is waiting to be realised by our dreamer,” concluded Manuel.
