Redhill school excels with 270 distinctions

MORNINGSIDE– Matriculants from Redhill School showed great results following the 2020 examinations.

Learners from Redhill School were excited to make their mark with 270 distinctions in this matric group.

Executive head Joseph Gerassi was extremely proud of the results and shared his congratulations.

“What they have achieved in the midst of an incredibly challenging time in history, while also navigating the complex emotions around the loss of what was supposed to be their best school year ever, is nothing short of remarkable. The support they gave one another, the strength of character and leadership that they displayed was outstanding.”

He added that the learners quickly adapted to different ways of learning and took on the challenge.

“This speaks volumes about who they are and why I believe they will change the world! I’d also like to pay tribute to their parents who helped support and carry them through the year, as well as to their inspiring teachers who worked tirelessly to ensure both their academic and emotional well-being.”

Let’s take a look at just how well the school excelled:

  • 38 per cent received an A average
  • 35 per cent received a B average
  • 73 per cent received a B average or above
  • 82 per cent received at least one distinction
  • 17 per cent of students received a full house (7 or more distinctions)
  • 99 per cent university entrance

Their top eight learners each received a full house of distinctions.
