Number 1: Sneak-in burglars want what’s yours

Sandton Police Station has encouraged residents to adopt safety practices at home. The former Sandton Police Station spokesperson has shared key facts on sneak-in burglaries.

 

Number 2: Randburg police encourage vigilance at busy intersections

The Randburg police would like to advise motorists and pedestrians to be more cautious and careful when carrying valuable items. Spokesperson Captain Makgowanyana Maja offered advice to the community.

 

Number 3: 47-year-old arrested for fraud in Sandton

A suspect appeared in the Randburg Magistrates’ Court on 29 June after detectives charged him with fraud. According to former Sandton Police Station spokesperson, Captain Granville Meyer, the 47-year-old male suspect allegedly tried to purchase a cell phone with a fraudulent shopping card at a retail store in Sandton on 27 June.

 

Number 4: Police warn residents about cell phone snatching trend in Sandton suburbs

Sandton police warn community members to be careful when using their cell phones on the street.

According to current Sandton police spokesperson Captain Bheki Xulu, community members have reported a number of cell phone snatching incidents in recent months.

 

Number 5: Police warn residents against meeting strangers in residences to buy items

Sandton police are warning residents about a new crime syndicate selling laptops on Facebook and asking buyers to meet them in their homes or at the syndicate’s residence.

“Don’t allow people to come to your home or visit another person’s home to buy the items. Rather agree to meet in a public place like a police station or restaurant,” said Sector 3 commander Captain VP Moleya.
