Reach for a Dream honours long-time oncologist

ILLOVO – Due to retire this year, Poole is currently the head of paediatric oncology at Charlotte Maxeke Johannesburg Academic Hospital in Parktown.

The Reach for a Dream Foundation would like to pay gratitude to Professor Janet Poole for her incredible years of service.

Due to retire this year, Poole is currently the head of paediatric oncology at Charlotte Maxeke Johannesburg Academic Hospital in Parktown.

“How does one even find the words to explain our gratitude to you for having dedicated your life to healing and nurturing thousands of beautiful children?” said Reach for a Dream CEO Julia Sotirianakos.

With Poole’s help and commitment, the foundation was able to implement and instal a number of ‘dream rooms’ at the hospital. These rooms provide children, who are battling life-threatening illnesses, with a better and more uplifting environment. Poole has also personally assisted a number of dreamers in cancer treatment and recovery journeys.

“Our appreciation comes not only on our behalf, but on behalf of every parent who you have given strength and the courage to believe and hope in recovery,” added Sotirianakos.
