Bryanston gets bowling once again
The club, which only recently partially reopened, implemented a number of stringent measures to ensure the safety of its player both on and off the greens.
Everything was a go at Bryanston Sports Club on 26 July as the club hosted its second bowls weekend.
The club, which only recently partially reopened, implemented a number of stringent measures to ensure the safety of its player both on and off the greens. The club had been closed to the community for almost four months.
Some of these measures included permitting the players to only use every second lane of the bowling green to maintain social distancing, players were also only allowed to move the bowls with their feet and of course, the compulsory wearing of masks at all times. These protocols allowed just over 20 men and women to enjoy a safe morning of bowls.
According to one of the players, Karen Hunking, it fell ‘great’ to be back on the greens. “They [the club] have placed all of these rules and regulations in place to keep us safe, it is great to just be playing again,” she said. Many of the other players echoed the same comments, applauding the club for its proactive behaviour which allows the players to get back onto the green and do what they love.
