Tennis lessons are up and running again at Morningside Country Club.

The resident tennis professional at the club, Erik van Eck has been hosting lessons through his tennis academy, the Erik van Eck School of Tennis. “We are happy to be back, the lockdown has put a strain on the finances of all our club sports and the bar is not open,” the coach explained. “Our older and advanced tennis players are mostly back, while many parents of the youngest children have opted not to bring their children back yet.”

He explained that safety protocols provided by Tennis South Africa have been strictly adhered to. These include but are not limited to, having to book to use the courts, sanitising frequently on and off the court (including between serves), screening and the taking of temperatures, social distancing and wearing face masks while not playing. Players must also leave immediately after their sessions.
