MiclnGrace Studios come back into frame

The crew members are back to refining scripts, casting actors and exploring locations for their debut action-comedy film Liarholics Anonymous.

Months after production came to a standstill, cameras at MiclnGrace Studios have begun rolling once again.

After spending much time away as a result of the national lockdown, Bryanston’s very own ‘Hollywood’ studio has opened its doors. The crew members are back to refining scripts, casting actors and exploring locations for their debut action-comedy film Liarholics Anonymous.

According to co-founder and producer Grace Norman, creating a safe space for people to create has always been a top priority. She added that conversations around safety producers begun weeks before the opening of the studio, ensuring that the team would be able to effectively operate all while complying with the safety protocols and regulations as set out by government.”There are a lot of changes to our day-to-day operations of the studio and film production, but we don’t expect that this will have major impacts on our production values and the quality of the work we produce on set,” said Norman.

She added that the circumstances have also brought out a lot of creativity from within the industry. In addition to the strict observation of social distancing, the crew members have introduced creative ways of achieving storytelling fundamentals through the use of technology and special effects.

“We will work this way until normal production procedures are back in place. Other measures include the wearing of masks, keeping to strict hygienic measures, having twice-daily temperature checks, practising social distancing off-camera, having on-site medics, and doing regular disinfecting of equipment. We will also ensure that there will be no more than 50 people a day in any area.”

Set in Sandhurst, Liarholics Anonymous highlights the modern-day fluid landscape of sexuality and promiscuity. “It is an intensely intimate series tangled with emotions, lies, and the heartbreaks that come with that,” concluded Norman.
