Poet Mich Atagana lays all of her cards down in Moments

BRYANSTON – This time around Atagana took on the challenge presented by the lockdown, reclaiming her time back.

Author and poet Mich Atagana lays all of her cards down in Moments.

Bryanston resident and current head of communications and public affairs at Google South Africa, Atagana has always had a passion for storytelling. “Growing up, I always talked a lot and would really enjoy telling stories whenever I could. I also loved reading, I really enjoy good narrative, and it just translated into my work,” she said.

This time around Atagana took on the challenge presented by the lockdown, reclaiming her time back.  “It is not necessarily unused time but instead reclaimed time that I would normally spend commuting and travelling for work. I was motivated to write this book because I guess I just ran out of things to read. I don’t read the same book twice so I started writing material for myself to read.”

One page turned into two and before she knew it, the closeted introvert found herself with over 70 pieces of writing and no idea what to do with it.  “It turned into a book which highlighted a lot of emotion, the could have, would have moment. “I share real, bare, unadulterated thoughts and feelings on the topics of love, loss, women and faith.”

Atagana hopes that Moments can provide people with an escape of some sort during the lockdown. “My hope is that through my moments, I can make your bearable, your fiery desires acceptable and the freedom in believing undeniable.” As far as the continuation of the lockdown is concerned, Atagana finds herself writing more and working just as much. “Who knows what the future has lined up?”

Moments is available on Kindle and softcover format on Amazon.
