Crawford learner scores gold

BENMORE – Crawford Sandton learner Tyler Lazarus took gold at the Abu Dhabi International Pro Jiu-Jitsu Championship which was held in Benoni on 1 December.


Crawford School Sandton learner Tyler Lazarus recently took first place, winning gold at the Abu Dhabi International Pro Jiu-Jitsu Championship which was held in Benoni on 1 December. According to his father Richard Lazarus, Tyler fought hard and persevered to take gold.

Richard added that Tyler fought against an opponent that specifically travelled from Namibia to compete in the championship. “[He] was undefeated having won a gold medal at last year’s Abu Dhabi Pro International.”

The competition is part of the Abu Dhabi Jiu Jitsu Pro world ranking and the Abu Dhabi World Professional Jiu-Jitsu Qualifying Series.

Each series consists of a variety of events in all six continents across the globe in different levels of competition – it is open to all nationalities, belts and ages.
