Swift police reaction to a business robbery resulted in the arrests of several suspects in Morningside on 16 September.
According to Captain Granville Meyer, the spokesperson for the Sandton Police Station, the five suspects entered a business premises in Morningside and threatened the security officer on duty with a firearm and afterwards tied him with electric cables. “They then unplugged one of the generators on the premises and loaded it onto their truck and sped off.”
The security officer then managed to untie himself and notified the police vehicle on patrol. The police members acted swiftly and arrested the suspects in the vicinity. The suspects are currently in detention and will appear in court soon.
