Two men suspects arrested and one killed during break-in in Parkmore

PARKMORE – Security officers responded to the alarm and returned fire when they were allegedly shot at by the suspects.


Two men were arrested, while another was killed, during a business break-in in Parkmore.

The three men allegedly attempted to break into a business on 22 July. They were interrupted by security officers when an alarm on the property went off. According to Captain Granville Meyer, the spokesperson for the Sandton Police Station, the suspects shot at the security officers and one of the suspects was fatally wounded when the security officers returned fire.

Meyer said, “Efforts to address trio crimes in our policing precinct continue to yield positive results after arresting two men for business break-in.”

Trio crimes refer to business robberies, house robberies and hijackings.

The two suspects, both aged 39, appeared in the Alexandra Regional Court on 25 July.
