Support the Sandton CPF at annual golf day

BRYANSTON – All funds raised from the golf day will contribute to a new command centre for the CPF.

The Sandton Community Policing Forum (CPF) will host its annual golf day to raise funds and build relationships with community members.

Anthony Modena, the chairperson for the CPF said the policing forum played a role in developing good relationships between the community and police to build safer communities for all.

“There are many ways the Sandton CPF tackles these goals, and we have adopted a multi-pronged approach, implanting some initiatives that are short-term and tactical in nature, and others that are long-term and strategic,” said Modena.

“Our annual golf day gives us a way to get to know each other better including police, Metro police, community, business, security and City officials.”

Modena added that in line with building good partnerships, they were also working with neighbouring communities. Aside from building stronger partnerships, the CPF hopes to raise funds for licence plate recognition cameras in hotspot areas around Sandton as well as create a command and control centre. This centre will enable the forum to work together with law enforcement, security companies and City officials.

“This is an ambitious objective, but we believe it is achievable. We have to do much better here to be the safest city in Africa, which is one of the objectives our CPF Exco identified at the beginning of this year in our annual planning session. Again, we know it is ambitious, but we are aiming high.”

The golf day is an important event on the CPF’s calendar and ensures the stability of the organisation. “We thank those in the Sandton community who have given so generously previously. It will be wonderful if you can join us again this year. We also look forward to hosting new sponsors and players as you join us on this special day.”

The golf day will be hosted at the Bryanston Country Club on 24 July. There will be many prizes available as well as sponsorship opportunities. For more details contact Yogi Govender on admin@sandtoncpf.co.za or call 011 722 4317 (9am to 2pm, Mon to Thurs) to book or for more information.
