Young and old gather at Bryanston Country Club to enjoy an evening of bowls

BRYANSTON – New and experienced bowlers had the opportunity to join in a fun, social game.

Wayne Woodward, the bowl’s chairman at the club, said,

“The January session was very well supported with 69 bowlers on the greens. Despite the initial rain, thunder and lightning, people waited patiently for the skies to clear and once it was, everyone got on with having fun. Music added to the atmosphere and at about 6.45 pm, teams gathered in the pavilion for drinks and dinner.”

Woodward added that Twilight Bowls is one of the ways of introducing people to the sport and this format is done so in a friendly, fun way. He highlighted that bowls is really a sport for all ages, shapes and sizes and through this event, they hope to encourage newcomers to the sport.
