Woman empowerment celebrated at Varsity College

SANDTON – The annual Ladies to Legends event empowers and educates young girls.

Varsity College Sandton hosted its annual Ladies to Legends event to celebrate impressive women and empower others to follow in their footsteps.

The annual event focuses on empowering young women and girls and educate them on pertinent matters with the belief that these women will be instrumental to economic growth and social change.

In the form of a panel discussion, women engaged and interacted with young girls.

The attendees enjoyed hearing the women discuss their experiences on critical issues such as access to education, health, entrepreneurship, money matters and investment opportunities as well as the value of giving back by investing in and mentoring others.

The panel included actress Anele Zondo; Candice Bernstein, the founder of Sarafina Magazine; Dr Langalethu Mngoma; Edith Chetty the career centre coordinator at Varsity College Sandton; and Sanè Ndlovu, the PR and Events Manager for Varsity College.

Louise Wiseman managing director for Varsity College said, “Self-development is important as it allows us to develop our internal drivers and motivators. It is these drivers that enable us to become the best version of ourselves.

“Now in its fourth year, our Ladies to Legends event continues to be a great source of motivation and inspiration for young women who crave self-development. We’re particularly excited about this year’s theme: Nine Issues Affecting Women and Children around the World, as it has a global view on the issues that women deal with.”
