How safe is your old alarm system?

SANDTON – Home alarm systems are very important for your safety. Is your system up to date?

A home alarm and security systems have been around for a long time and each system has a specific goal… to keep the criminals out.

With a wealth of security systems available on the market, it can become difficult to choose which system will suit your needs.

The traditional alarm system has become obsolete with the growing need for different applications and advancements in technology.

National Security and Fire have partnered with the Sandton Chronicle for this week’s edition of How Secure Are You? which is an online and print security feature.

Ranesh Ranjith of National Security and Fire said they recently introduced a new smart home alarm system which is exclusively available to their clients.

He said the new system is called Zero Wire and is a complete bi-directional system which links up to your smartphone through an app and allows the user to communicate with their system.

“Conventional systems are not bi-directional, meaning they only operate one-way.” He said the system is completely wireless and all the components controllable of your phone.

“With this system, you can arm and disarm your alarm from anywhere from your phone, view zone status and bypass sensors and live stream if the alarm is triggered.”

He said that conventional systems use a pin code or remote to arm or disarm, but everything can be done remotely through the application on your phone.

Ranjith said the system also allows the user to set certain scenarios for when entering and exiting your home by using geo-location.

“This function can open gates, unlock doors and switch on lights when you enter or exit your house.”

He said that it has unlimited users and allows the user to set up 64 different scenarios for a smart home solution.
