St Stithians Girls’ Prep is abuzz with World Choir Games fever

LYME PARK – The prestigious World Choir Games takes place from 4 to 14 July.

World Choir Games fever has hit St Stithians Girls’ Preparatory, with members of its Nonyani Choir polishing their performance to perfection as the girls prepare for participation.

The World Choir Games can be seen as an ‘Olympics’ for choral groups and from 4 to 14 July, South Africans will be welcoming singers from across the globe to participate.

Here, 11 days of exceptionally high high-quality performances will take place under the motto of the Interkultuur organisers, Participation is the Highest Honour.

This prestigious bi-annual event was founded in Linz, Austria, and has since taken place in South Korea, Germany, China, USA and Russia before making its way this year to the shores of South Africa, where 300 choirs and a massive 16 000 choristers have been accepted to take part.

The World Choir Games of 2018 will most certainly be a once-in-a-lifetime experience for the girls of St Stithians College, who agree that representing South Africa on a world stage is the ultimate privilege.

Details: St Stithians College 011 577 6000.
