#RoadRage: Do not mess with Eblockwatch women

SANDTON – The connected network created by Eblockwatch can keep you safe, have you joined yet?

In last week’s edition of How Secure are you? – an online and print security feature in partnership between Eblockwatch and the Sandton Chronicle – Eblockwatch founder, Andre Snyman, discussed the way the connected network is implemented.

This week, he discusses another example of how the connected network can benefit its members and assist in keeping bullies at bay. Snyman explained that he disliked bullies, following a recent road rage incident on William Nicol Drive.

“A woman was driving on William Nicol Drive when a man in his vehicle tried to cut her off.” He explained that the man got out of his vehicle and ran to the victim’s door. “She was able to reverse and drive around but he hit her windscreen.”

The man apparently followed her and chased her through a red robot allegedly trying to force her off the road.

The traumatised woman contacted the Eblockwatch Facebook page and through their digital connected network and technology, were able to use the license plate to track down the man.

Contact was made with him and he explained the situation and apologised for his actions.

Snyman said in incidents like this, the community support button helps a lot. “If you are in a situation, you press the button and Eblockwatch will mobilise security and other roleplayers to your location for assistance.”

The network looked after her and it gives women the power they need in a situation like this, he said.
