#HaveYourSay: Unemployment rate remains unchanged

We asked Sandton residents for their views on this subject.

On 15 May Statistics SA released the rate of unemployment for the first quarter and the rate was unchanged as it still remained at 26,6 per cent compared to the last quarter of 2017. We asked Sandton residents for their views on this subject.

MMATEBOGO MELLO: Obviously, our leaders should create more job opportunities that are transparent and accessible. They also need to create more training facilities and more jobs that are not office-based.
SISANDA MADWANTSI: The socio-economic issues currently facing our country affect us all; it’s a ripple effect. If I don’t have a good education, I’ll struggle to obtain employment.
HANS MOHLALA: We need to start by voting out the ruling party. The new one might just try and do their best to remain in power.
KRYSTYNA BLONSKI: Small businesses need more support from the government so that the economy can grow and it will be easy for us to employ more people.
