One killed, 15 injured after taxi loses control on M1 after Woodmead Drive off-ramp

One person was killed and 15 people sustained injuries ranging from minor to moderate after the taxi they were travelling in lost control, in a single vehicle accident, on the M1 just after the Woodmead Drive off-ramp this morning, 18 April.
When Netcare 911 paramedics arrived at around 6.17am, they found the taxi on the side off the road. According to Tebogo Magoro, marketing and communications officer for Netcare 911, the driver sustained fatal injuries and died at the scene.
Netcare 911, as well as other medical services, transported the patients to hospital for further medical care.
The exact circumstances surrounding the incident are not yet known. Local authorities will be investigating further.
