Hyde Park High School’s tennis star on the rise

HYDE PARK – A tennis star from Hyde Park High School has been selected to represent the province.

Chao-Hong Peng from Hyde Park High School has been selected to represent Gauteng in the U19A team at the South African High Schools Inter-Provincial Tennis Tournament.

The tournament will take place in Pretoria from 27 April to 1 May. This is a great achievement with only six boys being eligible in Gauteng to play for the provincial team.

Peng recently received his Tres Honores full-colours white blazer, cum laude for academics, table tennis, and tennis.

This award is conferred on those who earn three separate full-colours awards. If these colours are earned in two of the three different spheres of school life (academic, sporting and cultural/artistic) the award is conferred cum laude.

The principal of the school, Manolis Vogiatzis, is extremely proud of Peng’s achievements on the court and in the classroom and commended him at the recent Honours Awards evening held at the school.
