Local food guru Karen Short launches new food venture
WESTCLIFF – Find out how Karen Short intends to take the culinary world by storm.
Joburg’s finest foodies, bloggers, vloggers, and media were invited to experience the tantalising gastronomic expertise of Karen Short at her home in Westcliff.
Short has become somewhat of a veteran in the Johannesburg food-sphere by dominating the events catering industry with her brand Word of Mouth. She is now able to bring her food talents straight into our homes with her latest venture Frozen For You.

On the night Adrian Short, the CEO of By Word of Mouth explained, “Frozen for You was developed with the intention of following our clients as they navigate through their busy day-to-day lives, ensuring they have convenient yet quality meals using the best local produce and ingredients, available to them when they need it most.”

The dynamic team is focused on providing consumers with maximum convenience via their user-friendly mobi site and online delivery service. “With a few simple clicks, we can deliver a variety of delicious home-style meals directly from our kitchen to yours, filling up your freezer for weeks in advance, for just about any occasion,” said Karen.
For added convenience, Karen said each product could be heated from frozen in its tray or container. Alternatively, for more special occasions, meals can be defrosted, heated and served from your favourite oven-proof dish.
Each guest was served the product at the gala dinner which surprised even the fussiest critics. The cauliflower gratin and mushroom sauce were to die for. It was difficult to believe the soft garlicky potato dauphinoise was in fact frozen before serving. The sweet tooth was not left disappointed with the hero of the course showing up in the form of a light and fluffy meringue roulade with raspberry cream.
