WATCH: Buccleuch residents have been left without service delivery for too long

SANDTON – Residents of Buccleuch are angered by lack of service delivery.

Residents in the suburb of Buccleuch have been left without out service delivery to assist with several issues that plague the ward.

Sandton Chronicle took a drive through the suburb with Lauren Nightingale of the Buccleuch Residents Association (BRA) to assess the scale of the issues in the ward.

Regarding the dumping, Nightingale said, “We have on several occasions in the past approached Pikitup to assist with clearing the illegal dumping – one of the BRA directors led and largely funded an initiative to get much of the smaller dumping piles removed. However, it appears that as fast as the rubble is taken away, more appears overnight.”

“We have asked residents to be vigilant and report sightings to the relevant JMPD departments – the reality is that the trucks do it in the middle of the night and by the time anyone manages to get out to try to get vehicle registration numbers or company names, the dumpers are long gone.”
