682 years behind bars for Rolex gang members

SANDTON – Three of the Rolex gang members that were active in 2014 have been sentenced to 682 years in prison.

 

Three members of the notorious Rolex Gang were sentenced to a combined 682 years in prison by the South Gauteng High Court recently.

According to Captain Granville Meyer, spokesperson for Sandton Police Station, “Mphikeleni Beta, Sipho Mabundla and George Mulaudzi were convicted of committing robberies as part of the Rolex Gang in Sandton by tracking down people who had purchased highly valuable items.”

Beta, Mabundla and Mulaudzi were arrested in April 2014 after a spate of robberies and shootings in Sandton.

“The court was impressed by the investigating officer, Detective Captain Odendaal and Warrant Officer McCintosh for their tireless work and the extra effort they made to ensure a conviction and commended them for a job well done,” said Meyer.
