The role of a Junior City Councillor is a demanding one in terms of time and commitment. These students need to attend meetings every second Friday after school and have functions on most weekends.

They, therefore, need to be exemplary students who demonstrate the following admirable qualities: an excellent school attendance, a strong Crawford ethos, a solid academic record and a record of community service.

In addition, junior councillors need to be well-groomed, well-mannered and respectful. They also need to act with integrity and consistency and they must be articulate speakers.
