Paramedics have found a pulse on the suspect who was initially thought to have been shot dead during the shooting incident at Kyalami Corner.
A police officer on the scene further explained that there were four suspects involved in the incident.
Danny Maduray of Ria Sebetsa Security Services explained that the incident first unfolded in Wynberg when the suspects hijacked a white VW Polo that was later recovered. Details are unclear at present but it seems that the suspects then hijacked another vehicle and ended up at Kyalami Corner shopping centre. It is unclear what the suspects’ intentions at the shopping centre were.
One suspect was arrested at the centre, one was shot and initially presumed to be dead but paramedics have since found a pulse. A police officer was shot in the hand while another was shot in the neck and is in a critical condition following a shooting incident at Kyalami Corner shopping centre this morning, 31 October.
Two suspects are believed to have fled the scene.

Journalist Marnelle Greyling was at the centre at the time of the incident. She saw a suspect run towards the Woolworths entrance and enter the bathrooms.
Shots were fired, said Greyling.
She added that a police helicopter landed in the car park and then she heard more shots fired.
She said security and police had locked patrons inside the Woolworths store as they secured the scene. At about 8.45am, patrons were ushered out of the shopping centre.
