Help save lives and donate blood at River Side Shopping Centre

BRYANSTON – Bryanston Shopping Centre will host the next blood drive on 10 June.

After an impressive and successful blood drive in February, River Side Shopping Centre in Bryanston will host another blood drive and urged all members of the public to give blood.

The blood drive will be hosted on 10 June at New Beginnings Pilates Studio, which cancelled all dance lessons for the day. The whole centre will now be involved and all tenants will market this event on social media platforms.

Co-leader of Making A Difference, Gert Van Zyl said of the initiative, “The blood drive is my idea of being involved in the community that I am working in. I managed to get my company involved to sponsor time and money to this project.”

Those who attend the blood drive can enjoy a DJ as well as face painting and balloons from Bub Hub.

Van Zyl said, “Education is very important. We need people to know that they need to donate more than once per year. We thank everyone who has been involved for their generous donations and together we can help save more lives.”

NRG Properties, in Sunninghill, have given a lot of time and money to making this blood drive a success. James Gresty, the Principal, Gert van Zyl and Elizabeth Dumagude of the Making A Difference – Bryanston Committee have worked closely with the SANBS, and all the sponsors, to come together in making this Blood drive run smoothly.

“This is our second blood drive, following the great turn out from our first one in Hamilton Park for Valentines Day,” said Dumagude.

Bhan Thai Spa are giving away 20 spa vouchers for the first 20 vouchers and Body20 Riverside are giving out gym vouchers. The Lap Nursery School will also be there doing some activities with the children at the Bryanston Park Run.

Ghorbany will be giving away a R5000 voucher in a lucky draw giveaway and Woolworths Riverside have joined the blood drive initiative as well.
