Sage foundation’s $1 000 000 challenge in Woodmead

WOODMEAD — Sage foundation organises a walk/run to raise money for charities.

 

The Johannesburg Country Club in Woodmead hosted the Sage foundation $1 000 000 (R13 086 900) challenge in partnership with parkrun on 8 March.

Sage foundation is making a difference in communities and non-profit organisations across Africa and the Middle East. The day was about the unveiling of this challenge and to raise money for the three local non-profit partners, SA Teen Entrepreneurs, SOS Children’s Villages and Dignity Dreams.

More than 350 Sage colleagues, customers and partners participated in a run/walk initiative to raise funds. Sage Foundation asked each runner to raise money for one of the three charities, with a commitment to match any money they raised for their chosen charity, up to a maximum of R2 500 per person.

This global fundraising challenge is going around the world with the Sage summit tour series, to make sure Sage transforms more communities. Sage foundation manager, Joanne van der Walt said, “It was great to bring our colleagues, business partners, customers and families together for a morning of exercise and fun for a good cause. The funds we have raised will support the three community non-profit partners who are doing some wonderful work and making a difference in communities.”
