Attend free caregiver workshop

SANDTON – Tena, a global incontinence brand, is offering free services to assist residents who suffer from urinary incontinence.

Urinary incontinence is a challenge for many and can become a struggle for relatives who act as carers for loved ones with the disorder.

Tena, a global incontinence brand, is offering carers the opportunity to attend a free caregiver workshop on 15 February between 8am and 12.30pm.

The workshop will take place at the Barnyard Theatre in Rivonia.

Experts will discuss incontinence, how to choose the right products, the emotional challenges of caring for a loved one and will help attendees identify the signs of caregiver-related stress and provide useful strategies.

Tena is also offering carers in Johannesburg personalised, free home visits.

A Tena nurse adviser will be available from 16 to 24 February to visit carers at home and help identify any problems. The nurse may also be able to advise on any incontinence-related skin care issues such as nappy rash and will provide free samples for residents to try.

Booking is essential and visits will be allocated on a first-come-first-serve basis.
