The first day of school arrived for many Grade 1s across the country on 11 January.
There were both scared and excited faces in the classrooms as parents said goodbye to their children and teachers prepared for the first day of school.
One parent, Lerato Sebesho said she was going to be very sad the whole day after saying goodbye to her son Nic at Montrose Primary School.
Sylvia Buschberger, principal of the school said, “We had a wonderful start to the new school year. Parents and learners alike were very excited to meet their new teachers and to catch up with friends.
