Pupils surprise seniors

NORTWOLD – Bryandale's Grade 5 pupils recently visited the Nortwold Terrace Senior Village.

The grade 5 pupils form Bryandale Primary School recently visited the Northwold Terrace Senior Village for people over 50 as part of their community service.

Twelve pupils from the school all prepared a small performance for the retirees which included songs and poems. The pupils ended of their various performances by singing their school song. According to Judith Qacha, a teacher at Bryandale, every grade has a charity drive each year and this year, we decided the Grade 5s should perform for the older generation. Pupils volunteer their time and they do it out of love.

The pupils also surprised the seniors with boxes of necessities that were packed for each person. These parcels included basics such as toiletries, sweets and biscuits. Yvonne Brennan, one of the residents said, “The children have done such hard work and it is really special.”
