BREAKING NEWS: EFF protest in Sandton

Sandton - The Economic Freedom Fighters have begun a march through Sandton on 15 September.

Members from the Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) marched in solidarity earlier this afternoon with protesting workers from SAB Miller and ABI owner drivers through Sandton to the ABI offices in Milkyway Avenue in Linbro Park.

The EFF have made the following demands to SAB AND ABI:

 

  • SAB Miller and Amalgamated Beverages Industry (ABI) must stop exploiting poor black people through the so called owner driver scheme.
  • SAB Miller and Amalgamated Beverages Industry (ABI) must discontinue the Owner Driver scheme within two weeks.
  • SAB Miller and Amalgamated Beverages Industry (ABI) must compensate both Current and Ex owner drivers for the loss of Income, physical, mental and psychological damages caused by the Owner Driver Scheme.
  • SAB Miller and Amalgamated Beverages Industry (ABI) must return all the trucks that were repossessed by Mercedes Benz and other financial institutions.
  • SAB Miller and Amalgamated Beverages Industry (ABI) must Compensate the widows, and dependants of owner drivers who suffered financial loss after the death of their loved  ones.
  • SAB Miller and Amalgamated Beverages Industry (ABI) must stop repossessing the property of Owner drivers.
  • SAB Miller and Amalgamated Beverages Industry (ABI) must stop the exploitation of owner drivers who are currently contracted with them.
