Bryanston High break records

BRYANSTON – Bryanston High School compete in their first A league athletics Inter High.

 

Bryanston High School competed in their first A league inter-high athletics competition and finished second overall.

Athletes from Bryanston High School broke school records in their first A league meeting, after competing in the C league prior to 2014 and B league from 2014. At the end of August, team Bryanston competed at the inter-high competition for the A league teams and each of the athletes showed ‘True Blue’ spirit in every event.

Northcliff High School was the winner of the event, with Fourways High School in third place and Queens High School placing fourth.

Several records were broken by Bryanston High athletes during the course of the day with Keletso Sithole setting a new record for the boys U14 200m event with a time of 23:44:00. Thobani Madlala set a new record for the boys U15 100m event with a time of 10:49:00. The boys U14 relay team, consisting of Keletso Sithole, Dylan Dlamini, Molemo Manyame and Alex Ncube, set a new record of 46:37:00 for their race.

Isabel Smith, head athletics coach at Bryanston High School said, “Thank you to each of the athletes for running with ‘True Blue’ spirit and making inter-high such a success for Bryanston High School. The commitment you have put in at practice and training has paid off and each one of you have made the Bryanston athletics team the success it is today.”

John Skelton, principal of Bryanston High School said, “A massive congratulations to all of our coaches and [Isabel] Smith for an outstanding inter-high experience! What an event. Well done.”
