A baby shower for 34 expecting mothers

SANDTON – Amy Westerman, founder of The Grace Factory, held a baby shower for 34 disadvantaged expecting mothers.

 

Parkmore resident, Amy Westerman, founder of The Grace Factory, held a baby shower for 34 pregnant women from underprivileged backgrounds at Actonville Primary School.

The expecting mothers at the event enjoyed a brunch comprising cupcakes, sausage rolls, tea, coffee and juice. Each woman received a maternity pack of nappies, maternity pads, a blanket, a baby outfit and essential toiletries.

They also received booklets on breastfeeding, infant development and baby care.

Kabi Krige, an occupational therapist, gave a development talk and Sister Lynette of Mary Moodley Clinic gave a talk on pregnancy health.

Westerman thanked Cherubs, Johnsons & Johnsons and Bennets for their generous donations.

As a mother of two, Westerman started the Grace Factory in 2013. It is a non-profit organisation which aims to help as many disadvantaged pregnant mothers, new mothers, babies and children as possible by providing them with basic necessities such as clothes, blankets, toiletries, nappies and formula.
