Pride and joy for Saints
SANDTON - Four St Stithians College rowers have been selected to represent South Africa at the World Rowing Junior Championships in Holland.
Four St Stithians College rowers made their school exceptionally proud when the South African Schools Rowing Union named its Junior National Squad.
Dr Tim Nuttall, St Stithians College Rector said, “Being selected for the national squad is an incredible achievement that could not have been attained without tireless dedication, skill and hard work.”
The World Rowing Junior Championships will be held in Holland later this year.
“We are incredibly proud of Mitch Booyse, Tegan Korevaar, Jordan Pepermans and Max Silber on this amazing achievement. We wish them all of the very best in Holland in August where they, along with a number of other rowers from South Africa, will compete against rowers from around the world,” said Nuttall.
He explained that the World Rowing Junior Championships is one of the largest and most prestigious world championships for young athletes. “As a rowing school with a legacy of excellence, we are very proud of our rowers. Their selection to the national squad is a great testament to their skill, hard work and discipline.
“We are delighted that they will be able to represent South Africa and we know that they will be great ambassadors for rowing at the highest level.”
