Miss SA sponsor uses pageant to make a difference

JOBURG – A dental practice in Sandton is bringing smiles and hope to those in need through their partnership with the Miss South Africa brand.

The Cahi Dental and Prosthodontics Practice is one of the sponsors for the pageant and recently hosted Miss South Africa 2015 winner, Liesl Laurie, as well as the other finalists for a dental check-up as part of the sponsorship.

The visit to the practice took place on 23 February at Atholl Square.

Dr Norman Cahi, co-owner of the practice, explained the extent of the company’s involvement in the pageant.

“We’ve been involved with the Miss SA brand for the past two years and our commitment is to not only take care of the current Miss SA’s dental needs but to also treat impoverished children in need of dental care as part of the pageant’s social programme,” Cahi said.

“This means that every year, we identify a child in serious need of dental care, but who cannot afford it, and we take their case on and treat them.”

Cahi stressed that it was important to do this, explaining that it was a privilege which came with the responsibility to reach out and help the needy.

When asked about the continued sponsorship of the pageant, Cahi expressed hope that it would continue and that more disadvantaged patients would be assisted in getting much-needed dental care.
