Call for information after Parkmore shooting

PARKMORE - Sandton police are urging community members to come forward with any information regarding a driveway robbery which took place on 12th Street in Parkmore on 17 February.

Warrant officer Moses Maphakela of the Sandton Police Station said the incident occurred at 3pm when two suspects in a white Suzuki bakkie approached the victim’s car as she arrived home.

The armed suspects, who wore balaclavas to conceal their identities, made their way to the driver’s seat window and pointed firearms at the victim.

According to Maphakela, when the victim attempted to jump into the back seat, the suspect fired shots and shattered the driver’s seat window.

The suspects managed gain access into the vehicle and stole jewellery from the victim. The vehicle, however, was not stolen.

The victim suffered minor cuts from the shattered glass.

The suspects are still at large and Sandton police are appealing to the community to come forward with any information which could lead to the arrest of the suspects.

Details: Sandton Police Station 011 722 4200.
