Michael Mount Waldorf School has a 100 percent pass rate

BRYANSTON - Not only did the class of 2015 uphold Michael Mount Waldorf School’s 100 percent pass rate but 100 percent of the students also obtained university entrance.

A total of 28 candidates wrote the Independent Examinations Board National Senior Certificate and they achieved 31 distinctions and 70 meritorious achievements.

Four pupils of the school who deserve special mention include Maria Stathoulis who attained six distinctions for English, mathematics, life science, physical science, geography and life orientation.

Cassidy Buckley achieved five distinctions in English, maths literacy, art, drama and life orientation. Yener Koldas attained three distinctions in English, geography and history, while Hayley Warring achieved three distinctions in English, art and life orientation.

The school views education as a far greater responsibility than just imparting academic knowledge. As such, it hesitates to categorise pupils or applaud only those who achieve academically. It aims to help every pupil develop into a well-rounded, creative and independent thinker. The school has never boasted large numbers of distinctions, but neither has it ever had any matric failures.
